Who we are
Black Sea Motion is a wedding photography and film company registered in the Netherlands. We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy.

Any question about this policy, or about data we hold on you, can go to that address and we will answer within one month.
1. What this website collects
This website has no accounts, no login, no shop, no newsletter and no comment section. There is very little to collect.
When you send us an enquiry. The contact form asks for your name, your email address and your message, and optionally your wedding date and venue. It reaches our mailbox by email. We use it to answer you and, if you go on to book us, to prepare a quotation and a contract.
- Legal basis: steps taken at your request before entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- We aim to reply within three working days.
- Retention: enquiries that do not lead to a booking are deleted after 2 years . Correspondence relating to a booking is kept for the duration of the contract and afterwards for 7 years , because Dutch tax law requires us to keep our business records.
When you simply browse. Our hosting provider records technical information about each request — your IP address, the page requested, the time, and your browser's user-agent string. It exists so the site can be delivered to you and so abuse can be blocked.
- Legal basis: our legitimate interest in delivering and securing the website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- These logs are held by our hosting provider and retained according to their policy.
Visitor statistics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see how many people visit and which pages they read. It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device, does not fingerprint your browser, and cannot follow you to any other website. We see totals, never individuals.
- Legal basis: our legitimate interest in understanding whether our own website works (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
When you play a film. Films do not load until you press play. When you do, the player is loaded from Bunny.net, which then receives your IP address and basic technical information in order to deliver the video, and records anonymous playback statistics. If you never press play, nothing is requested from Bunny.
The security check on the contact form. Our contact form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which distinguishes people from automated spam. It examines technical signals from your browser and never asks you to identify photographs. Cloudflare states that Turnstile is not used to track visitors across websites.
- Legal basis: our legitimate interest in protecting our contact form from abuse (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
2. What this website does not do
Worth being explicit, because most photography websites cannot say this:
- No advertising cookies, no tracking pixels, no social media trackers.
- No Google Analytics, no Facebook or Instagram tracking, no YouTube embeds.
- No profiling, no automated decision-making, no data sold or shared with advertisers.
- No newsletter and no mailing list.
- No payment details are entered on this website at any point.
3. Photographs and films of you and your guests
This is the heart of what we do, so here it is in plain language.
If you book us, we photograph and film your wedding day. That material is personal data — yours, your families', your guests'. We process it in order to deliver the work you commissioned.
- Legal basis: performance of our contract with you (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). For your guests, our legitimate interest in carrying out the commission you gave us (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- Delivery: your photographs and film are delivered through an online Pixieset gallery, available for download for one month after delivery, as set out in your contract.
- Our archive: after that month we keep the delivered photographs and film for a further 12 months , so we can re-deliver them if you lose your copies. Raw footage and unedited photographs are deleted 3 months after final delivery. You may ask us in writing to keep material longer, or to delete it sooner.
- Where it is stored: on encrypted external drives and a network storage device at our office in 's-Hertogenbosch. Client material is not stored with any third-party cloud provider other than the Pixieset delivery gallery.
Publication. Under our contract, you grant us permission to use selected photographs, the trailer and the film for promotional purposes on this website and on our social media. You may withdraw that permission at any time by emailing contact@blackseamotion.com . When you do, we remove the material from this website and from any platform under our control within … days . We cannot undo a share or repost made by somebody else.
Your guests. If a guest asks us to remove a photograph of them from this website, we do it. They should email contact@blackseamotion.com describing the image and the wedding, and we will remove it within 30 days.
Copyright. The copyright in all photographs, footage and edited films remains with Black Sea Motion, and you receive a personal, non-commercial licence to use and share your material. Copyright and privacy are separate things: we own the images, and you can still ask us to stop publishing them.
4. Who else is involved
We keep the number of companies touching your data as small as we reasonably can. These are all of them.

Where a provider is outside the European Economic Area, transfers are made under the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, or on the basis of an adequacy decision — Switzerland and Canada both have one.
We do not sell personal data and we do not share it with anyone else, except where we are legally obliged to, or with our accountant for the bookkeeping we are required to keep.
5. Your rights
Under the GDPR you may ask us to:
- give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- correct it if it is wrong;
- delete it, where we are not legally required to keep it;
- restrict or object to how we use it, including objecting to publication of your images;
- hand it to you, or to another provider, in a portable form.
Email contact@blackseamotion.com and we will respond within one month.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl), or to the authority in the EU country where you live. For our Belgian clients that is the Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit (gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit.be); for our French clients, the CNIL (cnil.fr).
6. Security
The whole site is served over HTTPS and nothing else is accepted. There are no visitor accounts on this website, so there are no passwords to steal. Access to our content management system, our mailbox and our client galleries is limited to the two of us and protected by two-factor authentication. Client material on our own drives is stored encrypted.
7. Children
This website is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect their data through it. Children naturally appear in wedding photographs; those images are handled under §3, and a parent or guardian may ask us to remove any image of their child.
8. Changes
We update this policy when the website or our suppliers change. The date at the top tells you when it was last revised.
